  • To support complex business processes, information systems are required. Furthermore, to use these information systems efficiently, new processoriented organisational structures have to be implemented. This paper explores the tasks of a Chief Process Officer (CPO) and a Chief Information Officer (CIO) who both are responsible for realizing these objectives. First a short overview of Business Process Management as a fundamental part of Corporate Management is given. Second this paper discusses different roles which impact the concept of an integrated process management. Third different aspects of both the CIO and CPO role are described.
