Purpose: The presented paper aims at providing novel evidence on entrepreneurial intention and it’s antecedence from the perspective of theory of planned behavior and identity in the entrepreneurial university context.
Design/Methodology/Approach: The study is based on a sample of 300 respondents obtained at a German university of applied sciences and consisting of students, scientific and non-scientific staff and alumni. The data was analyzed through IBM SPSS and Smart PLS to test the four hypotheses related to entrepreneurial intention and its antecedents.
Findings: The study provides a critical perspective on the usefulness of the TPB framework extended with identity for predicting the entrepreneurial intention in the entrepreneurial university context. Based on the study results, it is hypothesized that entrepreneurial intention is best explain through a combination of entrepreneurial attitudes, social norms in relation to entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial identity, while excluding behavioral control as the least important predictor with lowest relevance. This has implications both for TPB-based research as well as self-efficacy based research on entrepreneurial intention, as the two are considered to be related concepts.
Research limitations and implications:
Practical implications: Practical implications relate to demonstrating the usefulness of the TPB and identity for evaluating the entrepreneurial intention in terms of broad and diverse range of activities of an entrepreneurial university. Transfer managers, officers in incubators and accelerators can deploy and expand this approach to use it in diverse and mixed settings for comparing and mapping entrepreneurial intention among diverse set of stakeholders.
Originality/value: The article empirically tests the combined theory of planned behavior and identity theory in a sample of diverse rspondents, beyond students to include also scientific and non-scientific staff of a university and alumni as important stakeholders in the entrepreneurial university. This is an important empirical and conceptual adition to existing literature with theoretial and practical implications.
This study presents a gender-focused perspective of entrepreneurship education programs, aiming to understand variations in entrepreneurial intention, reasoning on entrepreneurship, self-efficacy, and entrepreneurial education preferences. The present research grounds on Entrepreneurial Event Theory to examine entrepreneurial intention, desirability, and feasibility in the context of entrepreneurship education. The research was conducted in Germany in 2021 and included a sample of 156 university students. The study deploys the Mann-Whitney U Test to examine gender differences among university students regarding entrepreneurship. The findings highlight a heightened perception of risk among female students, influencing their focus on positive/negative entrepreneurial events compared to male students. Moreover, the research reveals a greater inclination among females to engage in both curricular and extracurricular entrepreneurship education activities, corroborating previous studies suggesting greater benefits for female students in such programs. The study also underscores the importance of distinguishing between curricular and extracurricular offerings, indicating promising avenues for future entrepreneurship education research. Overall, this investigation contributes new insights and explanations regarding gender dynamics in entrepreneurship education, shedding light on potential areas for further exploration in the field.
BACKGROUND
Resilience is an increasingly used term in medicine and subject to various definitions, often not easy to grasp. There are established core concepts for patients receiving palliative care, for example, meaning in life, that have already been researched a lot. Resilience, relative to these concepts, is a new object of research in palliative care, where it has so far been used predominantly with regard to the well-being of teams.
AIM
To explore how experts in palliative care define the concept of resilience and its suitability for patients, significant others, and professionals.
DESIGN
Qualitative study using summarizing content analysis according to Mayring.
SETTING/PARTICIPANTS
Twenty-one health and social care professionals with expertise caring for persons with life-threatening/limiting illnesses and their relatives were interviewed in three individual interviews and four focus groups. All conversations were recorded, transcribed, coded via MAXQDA, and validated by another researcher.
RESULTS
Resilience has been described as something procedural, dynamic, individual, and flexible. In connection with well-known concepts such as posttraumatic growth or terms from the field of mindfulness, social environment or personal factors have also been linked to resilience. Resources such as spirituality can contribute to resilience, and resilience itself can function as a resource, for example, by contributing to quality of life. An active use of the term in practical work with patients or relatives is rare, but it is used in education or team measures. Limited lifespan can pose a challenge to an active use of the concept of resilience.
CONCLUSION
Resilience as a very individual approach provides added value to other core concepts of palliative care. Within the palliative context, the normative dimension of resilience must be well reflected. A broader definition of resilience is recommended, leaving room for everyone to find their own form of resilience. The concept of resilience in palliative care includes opportunities as well as risks and should, therefore, be implemented carefully, requiring specific training.
What experts think about resilience in palliative care Why was this study done? Resilience is described as a process of coping with stress or adversity while remaining physically and mentally functional. Resilience is subject to a range of definitions. In the context of palliative care, where many other concepts, such as meaning in life, are already used, the definition of resilience also represents a challenge. We wanted to learn how people working in palliative care, defined by us as experts, understand and use the concept of resilience. In addition, there are three different target groups for resilience: patients, significant others and professionals. We wanted to learn about the differences in the application of resilience to these groups. What did the researchers do? We conducted interviews with a total of 21 experts in individual and group settings (so-called focus groups). All interviews and focus groups were audiotaped and transcribed verbatim to analyse them precisely using qualitative methods. What did the researchers find? This study shows how resilience is understood in the work field of the participants: namely as something procedural, dynamic, individual and flexible but normative at the same time. Factors such as the social environment, the number and intensity of crises already experienced (known as the idea of posttraumatic growth), aspects from the field of mindfulness or spirituality can contribute to developing resilience, which is why we call these things resources for resilience. Experts use the term resilience less in their daily work with patients or significant others, but more in education. What do the findings mean? The concept of resilience in palliative care involves both risks and opportunities. Practical work with the concept has to be well reflected and must be applied sensitively. Therefore, it is essential that professional as well as informal caregivers receive specific training that also includes respect for each individual’s personal concept of resilience.
This article deals with the under-researched phenomenon of rural health entrepreneurship and its major characteristics. The purpose of this study is to explicate the process of providing health services in rural areas of a developing country and their relation to SDGs. The paper is based on six semi-structured interviews conducted with Serbian health entrepreneurs in rural areas (two private practices, two policlinics, and two dental practices), a review of laws and strategies relevant to the field, and three sessions of discussions with eight experts (four authors and four additional experts). The research methodology follows an empirical, mixed-method case study research procedure. The results are presented in relation to the aspects of frugality, family orientation, and sustainability-oriented innovation. The timeline of the six case studies demonstrates the increasing importance of health entrepreneurs in rural areas due to the aging population and, therefore, increased needs for quality healthcare in these areas. The financing instruments have also become more formal and substantial in recent years, enabling the growth of healthcare businesses in rural areas. However, a major obstacle to further sustainable development remains the non-refundability of services before the state-owned, obligatory health fund, creating major social inequalities, especially in rural areas.
Hochschulen und Gemeinden sind einem zunehmenden und permanenten Veränderungs- sowie Finanzierungsdruck ausgesetzt. Zudem haben Kommunen einen hohen Bedarf an Know-how, Kreativität, Innovationen, Personal sowie an Fachwissen in bestimmten Bereichen. Hochschulen auf der anderen Seite verfügen durch ihre WissenschaftlerInnen und Studierenden genau über diese Ressourcen. Vor diesem Hintergrund ist im Rahmen des BMBF-finanzierten Projekts „Innovative Hochschule“ ein Transfer-Kooperationsprojekt („Kommunale Innovationspartnerschaften“) zwischen der Hochschule Bonn-Rhein- Sieg und der Kommune Neunkirchen-Seelscheid, ca. 30 km östlich der Bundesstadt Bonn gelegen, durchgeführt worden. Die im Rahmen dieses Reallabors gewonnenen Erkenntnisse wurden im Format eines Toolkits zusammengefasst. Dies kann als Handlungsleitfaden auch für andere Hochschul-Kommune-Kooperationen verwendet werden. Eine Hochschul-Kommune-Kooperation stellt dabei eine projektbasierte Zusammenarbeit zwischen einer oder mehreren Hochschulen mit der politischen Vertretung einer oder mehrerer Kommunen sowie deren lokaler Wirtschaft und/oder Zivilgesellschaft dar.

Companies are increasingly developing into dynamic and project-oriented organizations. Globalization, innovations and organizational dynamics require more and more projects, and thus a more project-oriented corporate organization and management. As a rule, managers as well as employees already work parallel to their line function in projects or completely from project to project.
At the same time, cross-company and especially international value chains lead to the cooperation of cross-departamental and intercultural teams. For this, the specialists and executives need above all knowledge and experience in project management and the corresponding concepts as well as in the special form of cooperation, team development and communication. Because the most problems in project management are not caused by project goals and methods, but by the many different problem-solving behavior and attitudes, e.g. between engineers and business people, different departments or the different country cultures. The international IT project specialist Tom DeMarco puts it in a nutshell (in Peopleware - Productive Projects and Teams: The major problems of our work are not so much technological as socio-logical in nature. In terms of content here, in contrast to traditional professional textbooks, not only the technologies are priority, but also the social and intercultural aspects of project work.
The book is aimed equally at students of all disciplines with a focus on managerial and project-related work as well as practitioners and entrepreneurs in all private business sectors as well as in NGOs, public projects or PPPs as public-private partnership.
The purpose of this study is to extend previous research on brand innovation by uncovering the process of family winery branding in relation to the new product launch in the VUCA market on the case of three Serbian wineries. The study deploys qualitative oriented and empirical approach in presenting a multi-case study. Three semi-structured telephone interviews were conducted with owners and/or managers in these three wineries. The results demonstrate that all three family wineries are offering high-end product for the domestic market with smaller one still experimenting with strategic direction of innovating for high-end market while the two larger ones putting focus either on autochthonous grape varieties with eye-cathicng labels or authentic brand identity with strong storytelling. Another important aspect identified is the frugal nature of product launch in the family wineries due to limited resources. The paper presents is among only few studies on new product development in wine business literature.

Citizen participation is deemed to be crucial for sustainability and resilience planning. However, generational equity has been missing from recent academic discussions regarding sustainability and resilience. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to reintroduce the topic of the existence or absence of an intergenerational consensus on the example of a rural community and its perceived brand image attributes and development priorities. The research is based on primary data collected through an online survey, with a sample size of N = 808 respondents in Neunkirchen-Seelscheid, Germany. The data were analyzed using the Kruskal–Wallis test for the presence and/or absence of consensus among the five generations regarding brand image attributes and development priorities. The findings point to divergence between what the median values indicate as the most relevant brand image attributes and development priorities among the citizens and the areas where the Kruskal–Wallis test shows that an intergenerational consensus either does or does not exist. The results imply the need for new concepts and applied approaches to citizen participation for sustainability and resilience, where intergenerational dialogue and equity-building take center stage. In addition to the importance of the theory of citizen participation for sustainability and resilience, our results provide ample evidence for how sustainability and resilience planning documents could potentially benefit from deploying the concept of intergenerational equity. The present research provides sustainability and political science with new conceptual and methodological approaches for taking intergenerational equity into account in regional planning processes in rural and other areas.

Full data on citizen questionnaire, conducted in 2018. as an online survey, with the sample size of 808 respondents. In order to qualify for participation in the survey, the respondents needed to be citizens of the rural community Neunkirchen-Seelscheid with voting rights, meaning older than 16 years.
The purpose of the study is to provide empirical evidence about the under-researched area of university–government relations in building a culture of entrepreneurial initiatives inside the triple helix model in a rural region. The study deploys a qualitative case study research method based on the content analysis of project documentation and further internal documents both from universities and municipalities. The propositions in the research question are guided by the previous literature and were then analyzed through an “open coding” process to iteratively analyze, verify, and validate the results from the documents against the previous literature. Results presented in the case study are related both to the project of a municipality–university innovation partnership, as well as the historic development of the university in its three missions, and, related to the important third mission, themes relevant for the project. In addition, a “toolkit” of relevant project activities is presented against the major identified themes, major project stakeholders, as well as relevant Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Universities should look beyond a purely economic contribution and should augment all three missions (teaching, research, engagement) by considering social, environmental, and economic aspects of its activities. Instead of considering a government’s role solely as that of a regulator, a much more creative and purposeful cooperation between university and government is possible for creating a regional culture of entrepreneurial initiatives in a rural region.

Unternehmensorganisationen sind heute dynamisch und projektorientiert. Viele Mitarbeiter arbeiten oder leiten parallel oder im Wechsel Projekte i.R. (auch globaler) Wertschöpfung und in interkulturell gemischten Projektteams. Neben Kenntnissen klassischer Konzepte und Instrumente im Projektmanagement, Formen des Agilen und Projektmanagement 4.0, benötigen sie besonders auch Erfahrungen in der projektspezifischen Zusammenarbeit, Teamentwicklung und Kommunikation. Denn die meisten Probleme im Projektmanagement sind nicht bedingt durch Projektziele und -methoden, sondern aufgrund unterschiedlichem Problemlösungsverhalten und Einstellungen der unterschiedlichen Arbeitskulturen von Funktionen, Abteilungen, Branchen oder Ländern. So ist der Fokus hier gleichgewichtig auf Projektmanagement-Techniken und Zusammenarbeit, auch im interkulturellen Zusammenhang, gelegt. Das Buch richtet sich gleichermaßen an Studierende mit dem Ziel leitender oder projektbasierter Arbeit, an Berufspraktiker und Entrepreneure in allen Wirtschaftsbereichen, NGOs und Social Business, öffentliche Projekte oder Public Private Partnership.
Purpose: Both Hungary and Germany belong to the old-world wine-producing countries and have long winemaking traditions. This paper aims at exploring and comparing online branding strategies of family SME (small and medium sized enterprises) wineries at Lake Balaton (Hungary) and Lake Constance (Germany), as two wine regions with similar geographic characteristics.
Design/methodology/approach: This paper, based on a total sample of 37 family wineries, 15 at Lake Balaton and 22 at Lake Constance, investigates the differences in brand identity on the website, brand image in social media and online communication channels deployed in both wine regions. The study applies a qualitative methodology using MaxQDA software for conducting content analysis of texts in websites and social media. Descriptive statistics and t-test were conducted to compare the usage of different communication channels and determine statistical significance.
Findings: At Lake Balaton, the vineyard, the winery and the family, while at Lake Constance, the lake itself and the grape are highlighted regarding family winery brand identity. The customer-based brand image of Hungarian family wineries emphasizes wine, food and service, with the predominant use of Facebook. In the German family wineries, the focus of brand identity is on wine, friendliness and taste and includes more extensive usage of websites.
Originality/value: The paper deploys a novel methodology, both in terms of tools used as well as geographic focus to uncover online branding patterns of family wineries, thereby providing implications for wine and tourism industries at lake regions. It compares the share of selected most-used words in the overall text in websites and in social media, and presents the key findings from this innovative approach.
The research examines Generation Z’s (Gen Z’s) attitudes, behavior and awareness regarding sustainability-oriented products in two European countries, located in the region of Western Balkans, Bosnia–Herzegovina and Serbia. The research deploys generational cohort theory (GCT) and a quantitative analysis of primary data collected through an online questionnaire among 1338 primary, high school and university students, all belonging to Generation Z. It deploys a Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) by running both Maximum Likelihood (ML) and Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) procedures, the latter being suitable for binary variables, which have been deployed in the study. The results of MLCFA provide evidence that there is a statistically significant and relatively strong relation between sustainability and circular economy attitudes (SCEA) and sustainability and circular economy behavior (SCEB), while there is a statistically insignificant and relatively weak relation between sustainability and circular economy behavior (SCEB) and circular economy awareness (CEW). The results of the BCFA, which is based on MCMC procedure, are similar to the results based on a rather commonly used MLCFA procedure. The results also confirm that Gen Z knows more about the companies which recycle products than it does about the CE as a concept, while the vast majority is concerned about the future of the planet and is motivated to learn more about the CE through CE and various awareness-raising measures.
Die Implementierung strategischer Erfolgsfaktoren rückt zunehmend in den Fokus kleiner und mittelständischer Unternehmen. Vor dem Hintergrund des überdurchschnittlichen Erfolgs sogenannter Hidden Champions (HC) stellt sich unter einer praxisorientierten Perspektive die Frage, welche Bedeutung mittelständische Unternehmen grundsätzlich den von Hermann Simon identifizierten Erfolgsprinzipien für HC für den Unternehmenserfolg zumessen. Die empirische Studie analysierte dazu die Bedeutung dieser Erfolgsfaktoren für mittelständische Unternehmen und untersuchte, ob Bedeutungsunterschiede zwischen erfolgreichen und weniger erfolgreichen Unternehmen der Stichprobe existieren. Im Rahmen einer explorativen, multivariaten Datenanalyse konnten außerdem zwei Cluster, die „Internationalen Innovatoren“ und die „Nationalen Traditionalisten“, im Datensatz identifiziert werden, die sich hinreichend in der Bedeutungszumessung der Erfolgsfaktoren voneinander unterschieden.

Der Begriff Open Innovation steht für die Öffnung von unternehmensinternen Innovationsprozessen für sogenannte „externe Quellen“. Zu diesen externen Quellen zählen beispielsweise Lieferanten, Partner, Experten aus Forschungseinrichtungen und insbeson-dere auch Kunden. Diese werden gezielt in die Innovationsentwicklung integriert, sei es als Informations- und Ideenquelle bzw. als Impulsgeber für die Innovationsentwicklung. Daneben existieren auch tiefere Integrationsmöglichkeiten, die eine direkte Partizipation an der Innovationsentwicklung ermöglichen.
In Deutschland im Allgemeinen sowie in der Region Bonn-Rhein-Sieg im Konkreten ist ein Startup-Trend sichtbar, der sich insbesondere auf den digitalen Bereich erstreckt. Dies äußert sich z.B. durch die Realisierung verschiedener Digital Hubs, unter anderem auch dem Digital Hub Bonn, sowie diversen Netzwerken und Communities, die sich mit dem Thema Unternehmensgründung befassen.
Die Studierenden der Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg (H-BRS) stellen dabei potenzielle Unternehmensgründer dar. Das Centrum für Entrepreneurship, Innovation und Mittelstand (CENTIM) hat als Hochschulinstitut zur Aufgabe unter anderem den Bereich Entrepreneurship zu vertreten. Um die Studierenden in ihren Gründungsaktivitäten besser unterstützen zu können, soll ein Überblick über das Gründungsverhalten sowie das Gründungsinteresse der Studierenden erstellt werden. Dabei sollen ebenfalls mögliche Optimierungsfelder der Lehr- und Beratungsangebote identifiziert werden.

In diesem Buch stellen ausgewiesene Experten aus dem Interkulturellen Management und dem Unternehmertum schrittweise die Unternehmensgründung durch Menschen mit Migrationshintergrund dar. Zahlreiche Praxisbeispiele veranschaulichen die Thematik und erleichtern so die praktische Umsetzung. Gesellschaftliche Verantwortung von Familienunternehmen – theoretische Zusammenhänge und Messung

Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) should, on the one hand, provide theoretical and practical knowledge to students and, on the other hand, make valuable contributions to theoretical knowledge and provide new insights by means of research. However, HEIs have to face changing and increasing demands with respect to what they are expected to achieve. Education and research issues are no longer enough, what matters today is the so called “third mission”. A specific example for implementing a third mission is the cooperation between HEIs and business incubators. With this in mind, a local consortium consisting of regional HEIs, e.g. Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, as well as public and private institutions and partners initiated and established an incubator hub for the region Bonn/Rhein-Sieg in 2016, called “Digital Hub Region Bonn”. This conference contribution reports on our experience with regards to this cooperation approach resulting from the above- mentioned case. Furthermore the pros and cons as well as some issues of this kind of cooperation will be discussed. Last but not least this paper initiates the opportunity to share and compare the experiences of other university business incubators in Africa as well as in Germany. As we will describe, the financial investment of HEIs in a joint-incubator with other public as well as private partners offers substantial benefits, such as mutual know-how transfer from HEIs to the economy and vice versa. This strengthens entrepreneurial mindsets and activities and contributes to the development and growth of the local economy. Consequently, this cooperation sometimes creates challenges at various levels, for example due to differing interests between HEIs and business partners. This conference contribution offers approaches to solve these issues and to support private public partnership in business incubation.

Innovation und Marketing zählen zu den zentralen Herausforderungen für Unternehmen, durch die sie Differenzierung und Vorsprung im Wettbewerb erzielen können. Innovation ohne Marketing und Marketing ohne Innovation können nicht erfolgreich sein, weshalb beide Unternehmerfunktionen im Zusammenspiel zu betrachten sind. Das vorliegende Lehrbuch verfolgt deshalb ein zusammenschauendes Konzept, zu dem es das theoretische und praktische Grundlagenwissen vermittelt. Zunächst wird die Bedeutung von Innovation und Marketing als Erfolgsfaktor analysiert. Anschließend wird ein marketingfokussierter Innovationsprozess diskutiert, bei dem auf jeder Stufe die Frage nach der Marktakzeptanz gestellt wird und der ausgeweitet ist auf die Marktausbreitung von Innovationen (Diffusion) sowie die Problematik der Innovationsakzeptanz.
Demografischer Wandel und einhergehende Probleme wie Fachkräftemangel, alternde Belegschaft und ein kontinuierlicher Know-How-Verlust, sind keine Fremdworte mehr. Anders verhält es sich mit möglichen Lösungswegen. Frau Kramer stellt in ihrem Werk ein mögliches Lösungskonzept, die lebensphasenorientierten Personalpolitik vor. Sie zeigt anhand praxisnaher Beispiele zwei unterschiedliche Konzepte auf.Die Idee dahinter: Die traditionelle begrenzte Sichtweise der Personalpolitik mit dem Fokus auf die ersten 20 Jahre des Berufslebens wird bei der lebensphasenorientierten Personalpolitik um die gesamte Lebensarbeitszeit erweitert.

Eine zielorientierte Steuerung und die Erhöhung der Transparenz gehören zu den zentralen Aufgaben des Management in Unternehmen und in nichtkommerziellen Organisationen. Vor dem Hintergrund der zunehmenden Umweltdynamik und einer hohen Komplexität, in denen Organisationen heute agieren, gewinnt ein modernes und zielorientiertes Controlling zur Erfüllung der anspruchsvollen Steuerungsaufgaben zunehmend an Bedeutung.
